Planting the seed
In 2014, with a head full of dreams and a toolbox in hand, Alan Macgregor planted the seed for Silver Birch Interiors. Fuelled by the guidance from the Entrepreneurial Spark program, and a £25,000 loan from The Prince’s Trust, his vision blossomed. These combined resources provided a crucial springboard – three months away from the daily grind – to cultivate the Silver Birch brand, solidify a business plan, and secure those all-important first clients. The business has thrived ever since, and continues to drive forward with a progressive and ambitious team attitude.
Branching Out
Like the silver birch that stretches its branches towards the sun, Silver Birch Interiors has witnessed a decade of remarkable growth. Over the past ten years, our team has grown to over 16 talented and highly experienced individuals, each a vital part of our flourishing community. Our commitment to excellence has seen revenue rise year after year, with the last three years experiencing phenomenal growth. This dedication has been recognised time and again, culminating in four prestigious wins of Scotland’s Best Kitchen Company award (2017, 2018, 2022, 2023).
Our roots have deepened as well. We’ve transitioned from nurturing the dreams of individual homeowners to fostering partnerships with a diverse range of developers, most notably establishing a strong relationship with Cala Homes, one of Scotland’s leading names in property development.

Taking Root in New Ground
Silver Birch Interiors is excited to announce a significant expansion. We’ve acquired a new property in Livingston, marking our fourth showroom location in Scotland. This strategic move eastward strengthens our presence beyond Hamilton, Blantyre, and East Kilbride, allowing us to serve a wider clientele and collaborate with new partners, solidifying our commitment to growth.
This exciting news coincides with our 10th anniversary. A decade ago, Alan began realising his dream of transforming lives with exceptional kitchens. Today, his unwavering dedication to innovation and growth continues to propel the company forward. His participation in The Hunter Foundation’s prestigious Scale Up Scotland program further demonstrates this commitment.
With this new expansion, Silver Birch Interiors is poised to branch out even further, bringing the magic of luxury kitchens to the entire country.
